Nottinghamshire Removals

The county

A crossroads with a motorway down each edge

The M1 runs down the western side, the A1 down the eastern one, and the A46, A50 and A52 cross between them. Whichever way you are going, there is a road that goes there directly — which is the practical reason so much of the county moves out rather than around.

Why so much goes out

  • The county is a crossroads

The M1 runs down the western edge, the A1 down the eastern one, and the A46, A50 and A52 cross between them. Whatever direction you are going, there is a road that goes there directly — which is the practical reason so much moves out rather than around.

  • Two universities, and what happens after them

A large graduate population arrives, stays a while and then leaves for work elsewhere. That produces a steady flow of first proper moves out of the county, usually south and usually into something smaller.

  • Retirement goes east

Lincolnshire, the coast and East Anglia take a considerable share of the county’s downsizes. Those moves look completely different from a job move: less urgency, more clearance, more going to family.

  • Work goes west

Derby, Birmingham and Manchester are all close enough to be a job move rather than a life move, which means a start date rather than a completion date, and a tighter timetable.

  • And plenty comes back

Nottinghamshire receives as well as sends — people returning to family, or leaving the South East for something larger. We run the same directions in reverse and quote them the same way.

Where we load

Across the whole county

Nottingham and the suburbs; Mansfield and the Ashfields; Worksop, Retford and the north; Newark, Southwell and Bingham in the east. If you are just over a county boundary, ask anyway — on this site the boundary matters a great deal less than the direction.

An honest note

We are not the right firm for a move across town

We do local moves, but they are not what this firm is set up for. There are removals companies in Nottingham and Mansfield whose entire operation is built around local work, with the vehicles, crews and pricing to match.

For a move from Arnold to Carlton you will very likely get a better job, and a better price, from one of them. It is not a difficult thing to say and we would rather say it than take the booking.

What we are good at is the long one — and specifically at the end of it you have not seen.

Both addresses, and roughly when. On a long move the second address is the one that shapes the day, so the more you can tell us about it the better the quote will be.
